Junior Professionals Call for Proposals

For the 2023 edition of the European Bronchiectasis Workshop, the Organizing Committee has decided to give an extraordinary relevance and visibility to original scientific papers, on-going works and also to preliminary research outcomes, still unpublished works presented by young researchers and clinicians focused on Bronchiectasis.

The main objective of this initiative is to give opportunities of interaction, visibility, exchange and dialogue to young specialists, which can strongly contribute to the grow of the field, with new perspectives, results, data and improvements.

To participate to this call for proposals, you are invited to submit :

  • PUBLISHED WORK – Original scientific papers, on-going works published in the period 2020 – 2022
  • UNPUBLISHED WORK – Preliminary research outcomes, still unpublished works

Junior Professionals selected will have the opportunity to :

  • Present orally a lecture of 10/15 minutes followed by questions and discussion during one of the sessions of the Workshop in front of an audience of about 300 specialists.
  • Discuss with the public the work and receive advices and ideas for the development of further research
  • Be part of the Faculty of the Workshop
  • Be hosted by the Workshop that will waive the registration fee and take in charge travel and accommodation costs (2 nights’ accommodation at the Faculty Hotel, Flight in Economy class or Train in First class).
  • Network with the specialists in the area and other junior professionals – many great works come out from ideas shared over a coffee in a congress.


To present a work for the workshop you should be a junior professional (up to 42 years of age). You do not have to be the first author of the work, but the one who will present it at the Workshop.

Beside what above, the main selecting criteria will be the relevancy and scientific value of the scientific work presented in relation to the topics of the Workshop, evaluated by the Organizing and Scientific Committee of the Workshop.


Notifications to submitters will be sent from 21st of November 2022.


  • The deadline to submit your scientific work for the call for proposals is 1 November 2022.
  • The scientific works must be submitted on or before the above-mentioned deadline, the organisers reserve the right to reject any scientific work not following the required format.
  • Scientific work submission will only be accepted via the online platform
  • To submit your scientific work, please structure it as an abstract stating clearly the Background/Aims, Methods, Results and Conclusions.
  • The scientific work must be written in English.
  • The complete abstract must not exceed the box space (500 words). Abstracts can contain formulas, pictures or graphs.
  • We recommend that you prepare your text in a word processing programme (e.g., Microsoft Word). and then copy-paste the final text into the online abstract submission form.
  • For PUBLISHED WORK only, you will be requested to upload a copy of the published article
  • It is possible to submit more than one scientific work
  • Changes on the scientific works are possible until the deadline by re-entering the online submission.
  • All the communications concerning the scientific works will be sent to the submitter who will be responsible for informing the other authors of the status of the scientific work.
  • For each scientific work a maximum of one presenting author has to be identified. The presenting author must be under 42 years old. In case you wish your scientific work to be presented by two presenting authors, please submit your request to the Organising Secretariat at
  • For any change in the presenter’s name, please make sure to inform the Organising Secretariat
  • The presenting author must accept full responsibility for the content, submission and presentation of the scientific work, and retain full copyright of its scientific work and presentation.
  • Conflict of Interest/Disclosure: Abstracts must include an acknowledgement of any commercial funding sources. Authors should declare all commercial interests.
  • All studies must have been approved by institutional committees on Ethics of experimental and human investigations.


To submit your scientific work online, please follow the instructions:

  • Create a registration account or login to your existing profile
  • Fill in or complete your personal details
  • In your dashboard, select the appropriate submission category “Call for proposals – unpublished work” or “Call for proposals – published work”
  • Select the appropriate topic among the list
  • Insert the authors and co-authors title, name, surname
  • Insert affiliations for each author and associate
  • Make sure that you identify the Presenter among the existing authors
  • Insert the scientific work Title
  • Insert the body (That must be submitted in the required format)
  • Declare all commercial interests (If there are no competing interest, it should be stated as well).
  • Only for published work: upload a copy of the published article
