The European NTM & Bronchiectasis Workshop\u2019s first edition was organized in July 2019 and since then it\u00a0became a biennial tradition<\/strong>\u00a0among the\u00a0small but very committed world community of scientists<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0experts in the field.<\/strong>\u00a0The community met also virtually in July 2021 and will meet again in February 2023<\/strong>\u00a0to exchange and\u00a0learn about<\/strong>\u00a0the novelties in\u00a0diagnosis, management and treatment focused on Bronchiectasis, a complex pathology<\/strong>\u00a0which is still often misdiagnosed and even more often overlooked.<\/p>\n The \u201cconcept\u201d of the Workshop is to spread the knowledge in regards to the European Respiratory Medicine, Infectious Diseases and related Specialists, enhance the understanding of the\u00a0physiopathology, epidemiology and management\u00a0<\/strong>outcomes and attract attention to the need to\u00a0share knowledge<\/strong>\u00a0and especially experience<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0demand for further research<\/strong>\u00a0emerges.<\/p>\n The focus is on the \u201chot topics<\/strong>\u201d of the moment and the suggestion of the attendees, as this Workshop series is a place to\u00a0get updates, acquire new knowledge, learn new approaches<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0discover new insights<\/strong>\u00a0to be immediately applicable in daily clinical practice.<\/p>\n The\u00a0main target<\/strong>\u00a0is the Specialists in\u00a0Respiratory Medicines, Infectious Diseases<\/strong>, Internal Medicine, Microbiologists, Paediatricians and Radiologist, but also other specialists as well as trained nurses and physiotherapists\u00a0<\/strong>can benefit from the active learning structure of the Workshop.<\/p>\n Every personal experience is enriched by the exchange between generations, different cultures, clinical approaches and various national health systems and some of the valuable relationships that occurred during the conference last over years.<\/p>\n In this environment, the Workshop\u00a0gives the opportunity to young doctors, researchers and clinicians<\/strong>\u00a0to participate in\u00a0Young Generation<\/strong>\u00a0initiatives such as the \u201cRising Stars Programme<\/strong>\u201d, the \u201cCall for Oral Presentations and Abstracts<\/strong>\u201d or the \u201cJunior Professionals Call for Proposals<\/strong>\u201d. The first edition took place in Vienna, the second was conducted entirely online, and the third was held in Milan, each edition drawing increasing numbers of participants.<\/p>\n In recent years, the bronchiectasis community has experienced crucial advancements, highlighted by a deeper understanding of the disease’s mechanisms, enhanced epidemiological insights from registries, and promising clinical studies that could lead to new therapies.<\/p>\n As we conclude the fourth edition of the workshop in Paris, we are thrilled by the remarkable interest garnered for this meeting by both patients and healthcare professionals. The edition achieved record attendance, with 284 participants onsite and 196 joining virtually, totalling to 480 attendees, including 73 international speakers.<\/p>\n Looking ahead to the next edition, set to take place in London in February 2027, we anticipate continued growth, emphasizing not only the scientific significance of the workshop but also fostering support and connectivity
